NASA Wants to Send a Trident to Neptune's Mysterious Moon

Could Neptune’s moon, Triton, harbor life? NASA scientists are working on a mission concept that after 30 years could finally return us back to this icy world.

  1. 2038 sounds a bit sad to be honest how about 2022 somthin realistic by the time u go to send this it will be obsolete

  2. Think about this:

You live in the era before space travel to other solar systems but after the era when Earth was barely mapped out. Think about that….

In all of time and space, you reading this, were born in an era that is and will probably be considered the most boring era for a civilization. The In-between era of exploration.

  3. What kind of other data will it collect over 13 years? Like will it fly close enough/have enough power to use its instruments on other moons/planets? Seems like this could come across a lot of really interesting unusual stuff.

  4. 30 years??!!
I’ll be long dead 💀. We are so slow…

Ohhh yah let’s spend 800 billion on military and wars every year it’s more necessary….

  5. America is Full of Smart People…that is what makes America Great. Smart people doing smart things

  6. Wait, wait, wait. They're looking for a hospitable environment 13 years away? What's the point? Who's gonna spend 13 oh so precious years of their life in a damn capsule to go to an icy moon? No one's gonna sign up for this shit, believe you me.

  7. If I have a child right now, then by the time this NASA mission is complete I'll have a kid who's as old as I am right now. I was also born when new horizon was sent out to Pluto

  8. I'm all for NASA to send satellites to these planets but, when they release there images why are they blurred on one part of the image then on the other part is clear are they trying to hide something?hmmm….

  9. Trident ! intresting name for a mission to icy moon..and just read the title of the journal showed at 2:51
it made me cringe so bad ! idk why! Scientist or writer !

  10. Watching the work these people do is like a spiritual experience in itself, I couldn't imagine actually being involved with the projects. Incredible stuff, these people are doing some ground breaking stuff! What an inspiration.

  11. TOO BAD IT'S GONNA TAKE YOU THAT LONG, I'LL PROBABLY BE DEAD BY THEN. IF NOT I'LL BE 91 YEARS OLD AND PROBABLY WON'T BE ABLE TO STAY AWAKE LONG ENOUGH TO SEE MORE THAN 2 OR 3 PHOTOS BEFORE SLIPPING BACK INTO MY DREAM WORLD. LOL

  12. 13 years, cmon. Ill bet by then we will have some propulsion tech that can get a spacecraft there in a couple months

  13. This is probably what Aliens do too. Geo mapping a planet.
Cool to imagine what our reactions would be to see another planet with LED light from space.

  14. Lol but Kno picture of a ball earth lol what happened to scientist just last week confirmed the universe is parallel lol lol y'all too gullible

  15. I see down in the comments many people complain about why it takes such a long time to reach Triton or other planets or moons in our solar system… Well, because we are using other planets gravity to take us there. We must wait for the perfect planetary alignment date to launch which sometimes takes 2-6 years of waiting or even decades. Well, all that because we don't have any heavy lift rockets any more. To be honest we only had one, and it's the only one we ever had. Yes it is the Saturn V the rocket that took men to the moon.
We need at least 150 tons of LEO payload of a spaceship. Not to mention a new technology of outer space propulsion system!
We are clapping our hands on the re usability of the Space X and Blue Origin rocket boosters… 🤔
These rockets are useless for space exploration. Yes they are more economical vs past rockets to put a satellite in orbit but that's it! Space exploration is NOT cheap, and it will never be!
We can't even go to the moon…something we did back in the 60's. But we used one use rocket technology, and the best out of our minds and industry, with a lot of founding by the government. NASA needs to alter their policy. Stop using old time contractors like Boeing because of political favours, otherwise it's going to be a mess and time consuming for everyone, and
take 30% of the military budget and add it on NASA's budget as a start!
